Privacy Policy
SurfsUp is not yet publicly launched. This is a preliminary privacy policy covering our pre-launch website. It will be expanded before the service becomes generally available.
This Privacy Policy explains how SurfsUp ("SurfsUp", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with our website at surfsup.cloud (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. If you email us or request early access, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
- Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our hosting and content-delivery providers automatically log basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the date and time of your request. This is used to operate and secure the Site.
Cookies and analytics
This pre-launch Site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary cookies required to deliver and protect the Site. If we add analytics before launch, we will update this policy first.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiries and early-access requests.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site.
- To notify you about our launch if you have asked us to.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect against misuse.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us run the Site, such as our hosting and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare) and our email provider — bound to handle data on our behalf.
- Legal and safety recipients when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SurfsUp, our users, or the public.
Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described here — for example, we retain correspondence long enough to respond to you and keep records — and then delete or anonymize it, unless a longer period is required by law.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International users
We operate from the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your own.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below and we will respond as required by applicable law.
Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
